Angel Reading For Today

Todays reading is from the Messages From Your Angels deck from Doreen Virtue. As I was shuffling, this card fell out of my hands.

Always be aware of the messages that are being sent to you. Always ask, they are here to help. Be open, do not doubt what you see, hear or feel. This card deck is one of my first decks that I purchased. I absolutely love it and connect with it very well. Sometimes my daughter sneaks in and uses it. The messages are truly beautiful. I hope this card resonates with you today.

Event on A Budget

Well, divorce is tough because now that I'm on my own, I have to live with one income and support myself and the kids. My daughter turned 13 and for us being Catholic, it's confirmation time. A sacrament that is received at this age.

Money was tight, so I couldn't go to a restaurant. So I had a Sunday lunch at my home and made things pretty the best I could. My mother helped me cook, I ordered a cake and tried to decorate the best I could to make this day special for her.

The table was set in a pink damask tablecloth with matching napkins. We hand made the name tags for each guest. A little package of "kisses" as a treat.

We purchased these beautiful bread boards handcrafted by Salt Marketplace on Etsy
The thank you cards have a rustic look and were custom printed by Borden Specifics.

Italians give out "bombiniere" to guests that attend their event as a gift of gratitude for coming to their celebration. We placed our bombiniere (favors) in a wrought iron tray to display the favors.

My daughter Madeleine chose this beautiful pink red velvet cake as her celebration cake! Delish!

So what I have learned is that this event was the best decision that I made to have it at home. It was warm and cozy and relaxing for all. If I would of gone to a restaurant, it would of been stuffy and not as fun.

Salute from all of us! We had a blast! Muah!  Until next time!

Meow Therapy

Well, once my ex left it felt like a dark cloud lifted from our home. That intense, negative energy finally left our home. BUT...we were all afraid. Afraid of the unknown. So as the days went by, my little girl at the time was 10 and she kept her emotions bottled up. One day she couldn't take it anymore and came into my room and started to cry. She hugged me and couldn't stop crying. She cried so hard she was gasping for air. My little girl was finally releasing her pain. I quickly grabbed a pen and paper and asked her to dictate to me how she felt. We needed to release her bottled emotions. She spilled out her words and I wrote away. Ahhh... at last my little girl is releasing her bottled emotions. As I wrote away, we talked about it and I comforted her. I immediately saw a sense of peace overcoming her. This is a good exercise to do with your child. Let them talk and you listen and write. A great way to release hurt and anger.

For my son on the other hand, I took a different approach. His hurt was in the form of anger. He was fifteen years old and everything that I did was lashed out in anger. Then one day I asked him what his thought would be about us getting a kitten. For some reason Spring of that year we were experiencing mice coming into our home. YUK! So getting a kitty would be a perfect deterrent for these pesky little rascals. Well....talk about seeing a sour face turn into a happy one! Finally! Yay! So off we went to our local Petsmart to adopt a kitty from the OSPCA! Oh God I never felt so good going with my son to search for the ONE! Well, the first Petsmart store were went to my son's eyes locked with this beautiful black domestic long haired beauty named Princess Tiffany.

How perfect! I was sold on the name alone! The only thing was she was already a year old and I wanted a kitty. So we went to other shelters but his mind was on the Princess! So back we went to the original store and asked the girl if we could meet with her. Well, the bond was instant. We were in the adoption room for over an hour and the vibe in that room was incredible. It was a done deal. Princess Tiffany was coming home! One thing though...my daughter freaked out! She didn't want her. We told her to give Tiffany a chance. Within a few days she melted perfectly in with us.

My angry son slowly became himself again. To this day (3 years later) he hugs and loves the heck out of that cat. She truly is a God send to our family!

I cannot urge you enough if you can to please consider adopting a pet. The OSPCA's pets come spayed/neutered with all their shots and micro-chipped. Petsmart gave us a care package for Tiffany with a whole bunch of goodies.

I later found out that black cats are the  most euthanized due to the superstitious stigma and that we truly saved her life! Awww! So go to your local shelter and make a difference! Make it a field trip with the kids - you won't regret it!

Today's mantra I AM WORTHY!

Until next time! Muah! xo

Card of The Day to Inspire You

I chose this card for you this morning from one of my favorite decks The Spirit Messages from John Holland. The pictures are so beautiful and the messages are heartwarming. Google this deck to order online or visit your local Metaphysical store.

I shuffled my deck and asked spirit what messages are to be communicated to you today and this is what I chose.

How appropriate! Be proud! Be proud of who you are! What you have become! Stand tall - you are strong!

I try my best to set aside about half hour for me. I go into a quiet room to quiet my mind and connect to spirit. I shuffle my cards and ask my guides what messages they have for me today. It is a must for me. It gives me peace. You deserve some quiet time! I will share some more ideas on how I spend some quiet time - to give my mind a break. Until next time! xo

April Fools?

Well....It's April and look what I have woken up to...NICE!

Welcome to Canada! The country that we're wearing shorts one day and ski-doing the next. This picture was taken early Monday morning on April 4th. I guess Mother Nature was a few days late with her April Fool's joke lol!
On a different note I just want to reach out to you! I can tell you being a single mom is hard but we're strong and we can do it! It's been 5 years for me. I've dated but it just seems like leftovers are being offered to me. I've kissed too many frogs. But I know somewhere out there my prince is waiting. I was told by someone that if I don't fix myself I will only attract fixer-uppers.  How true! I was broken and I was only attracting crap. This was a total aha moment for me. But how was I going to fix myself? What's broken? My dear friend who is also a psychotherapist approached me and said that in order for me to move forward in my life and to attract the love of my life I would need to heal through therapy. He referred me to my now therapist and I have not looked back. OMG! I have been searching for years for a therapist like Carol. I have finally found a therapist that works for me. She is absolutely amazing. I'm not ashamed of seeing a therapist. I didn't think I was broken but you know what - yes I was. There were things that were buried deep inside of me that I forgot about. Events/traumas were lodged into my subconscious mind unbeknownst to me. Carol has been amazing to help me purge these emotions, past hurts that have scarred me. I urge you not to bottle things up. Talk it out. Get together with a girl friend and vent! Seek a therapist. They're trained professionals to help you heal. I know the past 5 years I have been searching for me! My authentic self. I've read books, gone to seminars, classes etc. I found the world of spirituality which is my true calling! It works for me. This is who I truly am. I have taken courses and am now a Reiki Master. I love it! And I am proud! I urge you to search for your passion. It will fill that void and the feeling you will achieve will be amazing! There's no excuse! Go out there GIRL you can do it!

Mantra for today I AM BEAUTIFUL!

Hello and A Pleasure To Meet You!

Who am I? I'm a 40+ single mother of two that has been divorced for 5 years. I'm of Italian heritage brought up in a Catholic household. The oldest and only girl of a family of three children. I came from a strong and happy family unit. My parents preached on how important a family was and that blood is thicker than water and that we all stick together through thick and thin no matter what. Divorce was a dirty word. In reviewing my extended family history, no one ever had a divorce. I made family history marking the first to get a divorce in my family. Lucky me! LOL!

I started this blog as an outreach/support to all single moms out there. You're not alone! Being a single mom to me is the hardest job I could ever do. My intention here is to reach out to you all and lets support each other. I hope I inspire you and pick you up.

Every day I repeat a mantra to empower me. I have little sticky notes plastered on my bathroom mirror which reminds me every day of who I am.

Todays mantra: I AM POWERFUL!

Until next time! xo
